I’m Simona Scilla. I’m graduated in violin and music composition to the Conservatoire of music "G. Verdi" of Milan (Italy), where I have also achieved a master in "Neuroscience, didactics of the music and dyslexia.”
In addition to the breadth of musical and executive skills, due to the fact that I’m both a composer and a violinist who I have an experience ranging from solism to chamber music with various ensembles, this heterogeneous formation of mine has led me to develop particular specificities in the two main areas of teaching: anatomical and cognitive.
These specificities or specializations concern:
I'm the daughter and spiritual heir of the M° Osvaldo Scilla, one of the more famous violin's teachers in Italy, mentioned in the book by Enzo Porta "Il violino nella storia maestri, tecniche, scuole" ed. EDT.
With him I have worked, I have discussed and I have shared: experiences, ideas and intuitions for years; uniting, to the study of the anatomy created by my father, my passion for the neuroscience.
The "Method Scilla” is born from everything this: from my heterogeneous formation; from my personal studies in anatomical area and in the cognitive neuroscience; from the continuous comparison with colleagues, physicians, parents and pupils; from my more twenty-year experience of teaching with normal readers, with readers, with specific trouble of learning, and above all from the close collaboration with my father.
